Inspiration Board: Happy Birthday!

As you've already noticed I don't blog very often.... but today I actually have something cool to show so I'm going to put it here. Last month my mom, aunt and I threw a super cute birthday party for my mom's birthday. They put me in charge of the decorations so I made all kinds of pretty little things and I thought why not make into an inspiration board? So here's how it turned out...

So the first thing on the board is a tissue pom-pom that I made using a Martha Stewart tutorial, the picture is bad I know (I forgot to get a good shot of this one). To make it I folded about 14 pieces of tissue paper like an accordion, trimmed the ends, stapled the middle and fold it in half, then I started to open the layers like a fan... sorry this is a horrible explanation - I would make it a link but I don't know how?

The second one is a place card for one of our fun drinks PiƱa Colada (virgin of course) I drew the pretty shape on photoshop, printed it, cut it and placed it onto a cute pattern card with sticky foam squares to give it the raised look.

The third item on the left, I made out of a plastic cup filled with newspaper. Then I wrapped it with paper towel so the color of the cup wouldn't show through the tissue paper. After the paper towel I cut two squares of tissue paper and wrapped it around the cup and secured it with ribbon. Then I inserted the flowers (from Micheals for $1) and added the gift wrapping shred for the finish touch.

The purple cups, all I did to this one was wrap a thin ribbon around it and placed the little cheer tags on top. For the cheer tags I just printed a bunch of cheer words in pink on to white cardstock and cut them in rectangles, then I made the back layer out of pink cardstock with a punch and glue them together.

The napkins. I folded them to look like a rectangle and tied ribbon around it.

And thats all!

Oh and here are some pictures from the party.... Happy Birthday Mom!

The cake was super yummy, homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

Cheers!
